162-0

Here we go!
The Dodgers are gonna go 162-0!
"What?"  You say.
"There's absolutely no way!"
Oh yes, there is.
Pay attention, there might be a quiz...

Clayton and Chad win all their starts.
It's not impossible when you have heart.
Matty K hits 50 home runs.
It's been done by lesser men than the Bison.
The opposition never scores in innings 7 through 9.
Kuo, Jansen, and Brox were amazingly sublime.

Furcal and Blake didn't sign up for AARP, just yet.
No more injuries for them and they hit like they've got money on a bet.
Loney wins a gold glove, no one else got any votes.
He got a silver slugger, too, but he doesn't like to boast.
The offense breaks all records, the pitching staff, too.
I'm telling you, they go 162-0.  You believe me, don't you?

Stress

This one was written pretty hastily, so the rhymingness is a little off, but it'll do for tonight.

The season hasn't even started yet.
However, the Dodgers are already stressing me out.
Walks and errors and blown games make me sweat.
Must remember, it doesn't count.
'Cause, I'm about to freak out!

Green

The Dodgers played baseball in Tucson, today.
They lost the game, but that's okay.
When you're remembering the life of one ended too early,
You count your blessings and enjoy your family.

Welcome and Hello!

So, I've created this blog just for fun.  Who knows how many people will actually show up to read it.  Basically, my goal is to express my joy (and sorrow) over the Dodgers this season through poetry.  I use the term "poetry" very loosely, because in fact most of my poems will be very un-poetic.  Most likely they will not follow any of the rules for beautiful verse, except that they will most likely always rhyme.  I plan to write at least one poem for every game this season.  Sometimes they will be extremely short and, hopefully, other times they will be longer.
To warm things up for the season that is fast approaching, I give you my first poem of Dodger Dactyl:

In Los Angeles, today, it rained.
For eight plus innings, the Dodgers looked pained.
But then, in Arizona, the sun did shine,
When the Dodgers scored seven runs in inning nine.
